FAQ's

What is MeshNet?

MeshNet is a decentralized payment network that allows APIs, AI models, and digital services to get paid directly on-chain through HTTP 402 (Payment Required). It’s built on Solana for speed, low fees, and instant verification.

How does payment verification work?

When a client pays an API or model, the transaction hash is included in the request header as a Payment-Receipt. Meshnet verifies it on Solana if valid, the service unlocks instantly. No intermediaries, no custodians.

What can developers build with MeshNet?

Anything that benefits from instant, pay-per-call access:

  • AI or data APIs

  • Autonomous agent transactions

  • Microservices that monetize usage

  • On-chain paywalls or model marketplaces

Why use Solana?

Solana offers sub-second finality, fraction-of-a-cent fees, and native USDC support making it ideal for microtransactions and real-time agent-to-agent payments.

What is $MESH used for?

$MESH powers the network’s incentives:

  • Staking: Secure and prioritize routing

  • Rewards: Earn a share of transaction fees

  • Governance: Participate in protocol decisions

  • Access: Enable premium routing and priority slots

How do I start using MeshNet?

  1. Get access to the SDK or API key

  2. Integrate HTTP 402 into your service

  3. Accept USDC or $MESH payments instantly

Is MeshNet open source?

Yes. Core SDKs, verification tools, and routing components are open-source and available for community contribution.

How are payments settled?

All payments occur directly on-chain in USDC (Solana) or $MESH. Once confirmed, access is granted automatically — no escrow or third-party dependency.

Can agents pay each other autonomously?

Yes. MeshNet is designed for autonomous AI and bots that can read 402 responses, pay in crypto, and receive data or model access without human input.
